DAY 1
Arrival and Exploration of Kalofer
- Morning: Arrival in Sofia and a 2-hour drive to the picturesque Balkan Mountains, reaching Kalofer.
- Afternoon: Discover Kalofer’s riverside houses, the historic Botev Museum and House, local monasteries and churches, and the lavender and rose fields.
- Overnight: Stay in Kalofer.
DAY 2
Nature and Culture in the Balkan Mountains
- Morning: Traverse the stunning River Trail in the Balkan Mountains Park, crossing bridges and waterfalls.
- Afternoon: Visit a local distillery for Rakia tasting, experience traditional sheep farming and cheese production, and learn Bulgarian dance steps.
- Overnight: Stay in Kalofer.
DAY 3
Waterfalls and Folklore
- Morning: Hike to the highest waterfall in the Balkan Mountains, below Mount Botev.
- Afternoon: Visit Shushitsa village to meet the local folklore group and immerse in Bulgarian singing and dances.
